Dr. Michael Henry has joined the Rockbridge Area Health Center as medical director and a provider of primary medical care to patients of all ages.
Henry earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Marquette University and a Doctor of Medicine from Howard University College of Medicine.
“When I was growing up, I always wanted to be a doctor and provide something that people need,” said Henry. “So being a physician is very personally fulfilling.”
During his 30-year military career, Henry served in many leadership and training roles as a physician in the U.S. Army and provided primary medical and trauma care in Kosovo, Iraq, Afghanistan, throughout the U.S. and most recently at Womack Army Medical Center in Fort Bragg, NC.
“After retiring from the military, my family and I wanted to put down permanent roots,” added Henry. “Having the opportunity to continue my career and put my medical experience to use at RAHC is a win-win for everyone.”
