By opening its doors throughout the area, the units will expand access to affordable health care services throughout Rockbridge, especially in the outlying remote communities.

Both units have been customized with state-of-the-art components and the key equipment necessary to provide high-quality primary medical and dental care that can accommodate different needs at various sites.

Services provided by the mobile medical unit include preventive/wellness health services, screenings, immunizations, chronic disease management, acute/sick care, women’s healthcare, pediatrics services, and substance use disorder treatment. The unit is also equipped with a medical lab for providing routine lab testing for patients receiving care.

“The mobile health units are a new tool offering the health center an agile and flexible platform to respond to the community’s health care needs, providing high-impact and affordable health care in the more remote and rural areas of our community,” said Dr. Michael Henry, MD, RAHC medical director.
