VA Community Care Network

We are honored to support our local veterans by offering high-quality, convenient healthcare as an authorized VA Community Care Network (CCN) provider.Veterans are eligible to get primary or mental health care  if the VA can’t schedule an appointment for you at a VA health facility that’s within a 30-minute average drive from their home.

As part of the CCN, Rockbridge Area Health Center (RAHC) provides a full spectrum of health services right here at home, saving veterans the long commute to VA facilities outside of the area.

Who can access VA Community Care?

The VA Community Care program allows veterans to receive care in their own communities when VA facilities cannot meet their healthcare needs. For eligible veterans, this means greater flexibility and access to care where you need it most. Veterans in Lexington, Buena Vista, and Rockbridge County—over 2,000 strong—now have more healthcare options close to home.

In most cases, Veterans must receive approval from VA before receiving care from a community provider to avoid being billed for care. VA staff members generallay make all eligibility determinations for community care.
